Message from Environment Agency
Flooding is possible - be prepared
River levels are rising at the St Ives river gauge as a result of the recent rainfall and snowmelt. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible. We expect flooding to affect the River Great Ouse from Wyboston to Earith, including Hen Brook, Fox Brook, Brampton Brook, Back Brook, Hall Green Brook, Parsons Drove Drain, Swavesey Drain and Wadsbys Folly. Further rainfall is forecast for this evening and into Thursday morning. We expect river levels to respond to this rainfall and remain high over the next few days. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, Thursday 28 January, or as the situation changes. We are closely monitoring the situation.
