Repairs to St. James' Churchyard Wall
Work is due to start on Monday 28th June to repair the East Boundary wall at St. James Church, Little Paxton.
The wall has extensive damage and is leaning in places.
The works will include rebuilding sections of the wall, pointing, replacing damaged bricks and removing as small section of wall near the protected tree. Two small piers will be built either side of the tree to allow the tree to grow without further damage to the wall.
There will be security fencing in place and appropriate measures taken to protect memorial plaques.
The work will be carried out by Herringbone Restoration Ltd and will take approx. 6 weeks to complete.
As the Churchyard is a closed churchyard for burials, the Parish Council is responsible for churchyard maintenance.
