Paxfest & Fun Dog Show - Saturday 8th July 2023

Paxfest is the annual village fete which takes place on second Saturday in July.

Come along to a FREE afternoon of family fun.
QEII Playing Field/Village Hall, Little Paxton

FREE ADMISSION

Lots of stalls - BBQ, Beer tent, refreshments, games, face painting, children's craft activities, Magic Shows, Fun Dog Show, Musical entertainment and lots more.

Stall bookings

Crockery smashing stall

The booking fees for stalls are £10 village commercial stall and £25 for a non village commercial stall. The booking fee is non refundable and will be invoiced after 1st April 2023.

Preschool stall

All commercial stallholders to provide their own gazebos, tables and chairs. In the event of bad weather the event will still go ahead and all entertainment will be in the village hall.

There is no booking fee for Village groups, Clubs & Organisations.

Fun Dog Show Classes 2023

The Fun Dog Show will start at 1pm. There will be a 30 min break in the Fun Dog Show at 3pm. There are 13 classes and a Championship Class.

Registration is on the day and is £1.50 per dog per class.
On the day there will be a dog measuring chart for Tiny, Small, Medium and Large Dogs to help owners decide which class best suits their dogs.

There is no restriction on the number of classes a dog can enter. The winner of each class has entry to the Championship Class.

Bedford Pipe Band
Rapunzel

12 noon - Bedford Pipe Band will parade into the central arena to open the event. The skirl of the bagpipes will be heard by everyone.

12.30pm -12.45pm - Dewey School of Dance

12.45pm- 1.00pm - Clickity Clack Parties -meet Ariel

1.00pm - 1.45pm - Porterhouse Jazz 6 - the Jazz band enjoys entertaining at Paxfest. Bowler hats, trombones and all that jazz. If you like Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Count Basie and music from the Forties- this is for you.

Other Attractions

Connections Youth Bus

Youth Club on a bus- with XBOX, computer games, internet, tuck shop, crafts, board games and two friendly youth workers.

Magic Shows

Mr Marvel will entertain children with three different magic shows starting at 2pm. Free.

Model Train Rides

Royston & District Model Engineering Society will be setting up their fabulous model steam train rides with 140 feet of track.

Donkey Rides

Mike's Donkeys will providing four beautiful donkeys for children to ride & pet. Age & height restrictions apply. Helmets provided.

Petting Farm

Animal Edge will be bringing along a petting farm with a pony that can be groomed. There will be goats that can be fed and small animals (rabbits, guinea pigs & chickens) for assisted handling.

CAR PARKING 2023

No waiting traffic cone

Concerns have been raised regarding parking in the village hall car park on Paxfest day. Passes will now be issued for village hall car parking spaces with each pass having an allocated parking space- this will be mainly for entertainers and musicians for the event.

Stallholders will be issued with a field lay out prior to accessing the field to reduce traffic queues on the High Street. This will ensure a quicker access onto the field.

Stallholders will be issued with a pass to park on the QEII Playing field.

There will be NO public parking in the village hall car park.

The Paxfest Committee would like to encourage residents to leave their cars at home and walk/cycle or scoot to the event.

If you are visiting Little Paxton for Paxfest, please park on streets near the High Street (not on street corners).

Disabled Parking

The Rookery PE19 6QT & St.James Road PE19 6QW are ideal parking locations for disabled parking for Paxfest. There is a ramp at the The Rookery for easy access which leads to the QEII Playing Field.
